Well, the best one was from User5 or something and he said to ring Sky to fix errors on my line which I plan on doing later on tonight because the lines seem to be a bit busy at the moment and wont let me through... sigh.

Good luck.I just rang them and gort straight through so i dont know why it would be busy?Let me know how you get on,im bloody fed up with it to be honest and iv basically been told cos they already sent an engineer out who had a "gut feeling" what the problem is,then bt wont send anyone else so i have to make do with what i have got already.Nice eh?Oh yeah and the last person i just talked to just told me"you need to go away and replace your bt cable"!!! Best get the pick axe and shovel out then eh?its gonna be a long hard night digging the road up.What the hell is wrong with these people?

Re: Not a happy bunny...what can i do?

So,sky just rang me back and have now told me that there are various faults on the bt line, noise etc.So they cant fix it for me but what i have to do is get a phone engineer out myself and get them to change the phone socket. This will of course cost me a small fortune no doubt. But how can i be sure its the phone socket that is at fault after previously being told that it was the cable from the cabinet to the house!!!Is it something i could do myself?or will bt charge me if there is a fault?

Unless the fault is your side of the telephone socket BT cannot charge you for a fault on their network.

Think it might depend on where you live to be honest, you will get through straight away and on the other hand I do not. It sucks to be honest, I had a better internet connection with AOL but a few weeks ago when I was with AOL my internet started to get slower so I switched over to Sky and now its the same as AOL "Horrible, slow, unreliable." its not even funny anymore, Ive got important things to be doing over the next few weeks and I really cant be having "Disconnections, Slow downs, etc."

Not really, BT will only check the line for voice. It is is OK, as far as they are concerned the line is OK. The line needs to be checked for faults which effect broadband. BT will not do this unless instructed by the ISP.

@SOF006 if your connection was slowing down with your previous ISP, them it is probably your line which is faulty. If the fault is external, BT, on instructions from Sky are the only ones who can fix this.
