If you're not confident sky will check for an outtage, ask them to run 'swish' and check whether the network equipment is responding or instead ask them to check fault management board. You're talking a minute to check that.

So that's 9p connection? Phew. I know people had complaints about Sky charging for support but didn't think it was that much. I've got to call them to ditch my TV and BB sub and I've got a whole list of damning reasons here next to me I want to off load at them. I thought I might have to shorten it for a moment there.

Right, still down. I'll humour them one last time. Thanks for your Swish info.

2.785p later, my exchange is down and something about working hard and within the hour. To be fair a third of the time was spent by me asking him to repeat himself as, let's say, I had trouble understanding his accent.

Thanks Sky support, you'll soon be hearing from me again one final time.

And thanks on here for letting me have my grumble.

I assume if you're leaving that you'd call cancellations not Support?? lol

see, 3p isn't too much to get a quick answer is it?

33p actually (I have a problem with numbers it would appear). I was on for 5 minutes. Couldn't have been as straight forward as suggested cause I was on hold for one of those minutes. Support shouldn't cost a penny, like it doesn't where I'm taking my business.

      Thanks for your time.

      Re: Broadband Outage SS8 Area

It would be an ideal situation if the outage had of been distributed on a webpage on Sky's site, (then we could have checked) but we can live in hope.

Glad you found out though eventually, and thanks for letting us know the outcome.

I'm surprised Sky haven't implemented a status page for the public - must be a money-making scheme to get people to call in to find out...not fair but I can see why they do it

      .

or you could have went to say no to 0870 put in skys number or name and there is a 0800 number for technical support that gives options for set top boxes, mac codes & b/b support.
