      First install the tool, obviously

      When you have installed it open it. It will open in a browser window, click the Tools tab in the top right menu, than the Target SNR margin in the left pane. Use the slider to increase the %. I would start off at 110%. Click the Set and Resync button. You should resync at a lower speed with a higher noise margin. The trick is to get the best stable speed you can. You may have to experiment with a few different %s to get the best stable speed.

      If you move the slider the other way, down to say 85% and resync you will find the speed increases and your NM drops. As your connection is unstable you don't want to leave it like that, its just for info.

      Have a play around with the tool. It has lots of uses, not the least of which is the ability to get your username and password with one click.

      Re: Advice with broadband

      Damn, I'm sorry, I have just had another look and found this at the bottom of the Features box. -
      * Target SNR margin altering and the advanced SNR, QLN and Attenuation graphs are not supported for the DG934G (black Netgear).
      It still has some useful tools I am sure you will enjoy using. Another tool that does this sort of thing is the DMT, but I don't think it supports your router either Read about it here, the home site is in Deutsch.
      ::. Kitz - Voyager 2100 + DMT Tool .::

      If the poor stability continues you may be forced to ask Sky to reduce your speed, unless anyone else has an idea.
