Looking for confirmation (good or bad) on Router Stats and Connection Speeds

First off, thanks to all who regularly post here and help out, excellant resource.

I would appreciate it if a one of the resident 'gurus' would check these stats out for me. Basically should I be happy or not?

Currently on Sky Unlimited. All tests conducted from Master socket. Router connected to PC via Ethernet Cable.

      2.3Km to exchange

Connection Speed / Down 6143 kbps / Up 796 kbps
Line Attenuation / Down 41.5 db / Up 20.5 db
Noise Margin / Down 7.5 db / Up 13.0 db

Should I be execting more? Many thanks in advance.

I have a very similar attenuation and sync at about 6800-7000. That's on G.DMT apparently, thanks to some advice on here. So you could sneek out a wee bit more IMO.

I try to monitor my noise margin and reboot the router when it's at its highest to get the most I can. Have managed 7072 (I think) but no more (was back down to 6400 this morning, rebooted to 6800+).

Plug into the Test socket and post your stats from there.

BT NTE-2000 ADSL Faceplate for NTE5
might improve your speeds a little if you fit one of these it bypasses any extension wiring which sometimes causes noise on the line(which was my problem until i fitted this)
you could always ring them up and ask for the line to be reconfigured manually and then they tell you the best speed they can get from your line

      Thanks for the replies all.

Just to confirm the tests above were from the test socket.

Re: Looking for confirmation (good or bad) on Router Stats and Connection Speeds

If they are from the Test socket and not from the master, as you say above, then you have a poor line and are getting as much as your line will support.

I thought as much. Too be honest I've got no complaints, just would be nice to take advantage of what is potentially available. Damn this country and its ancient infrastructure.

      Thanks again.
