      Re: Are sky blocking rapidshare.com?

It's kind of hard to keep writing on this thread, no matter what, people will think what they want to think.

I honestly do not believe that Sky have blocked these sites intentionally, or at least not without the intervention of the IWF - The fact that all the downloading sites went off at the same time looks to me to be a wider issue, and with the traffic being re-routed etc then letting these sites work kind of confirms to me that Sky are not doing it intentionally.

I have no need to defend Sky, I am just like every one else on here, a Sky customer, but sometimes people will only believe what they want to.

Do I agree with censorship? No - But I do believe in the remit of the IWF and as already pointed out they do not seem to be doing the job properly if they can take out a whole list of websites in one go.

It's quite comical some of the conspiracy theories we have read on this and other threads, and if Sky really didn't want you to use these sites, they would block end of. And they certainly wouldn't waste huge resources on trying to fix the actual problem.

The only real thing Sky are guilty on this issue of is the fact they have remained silent, rather than keeping people in the loop. We reported this issue on numerous occasions, once we saw for ourselves that there was a huge problem.

The person we reported it to, then made the relevant department aware, and as such our involvement then ended. We just gave everyone a platform to solve the issues collectively.

Yes it has taken ages to resolve, and I can fully understand that people are annoyed, but I just do not agree with some of the replies that have been added to this thread, imo they were just unfounded.

      Re: Are sky blocking rapidshare.com?

I have received a call back from Sky (see page 33 of this section) 0800 0512592 and Sky have confirmed what they told me on the telephone earlier...... the loose wires around the back have been fixed!

I`m not saying they won`t come loose again, but they promised to fix them, they promised to call me back and they have kept their word.

      Good on ya sky!
Since 2004, Sky does not support Dolby Digital 5.1 via HDMI.

      4shared.com is back for me.

At least I can download and make a valid contribution to the development of Android roms on xda forums.

      Thanks everyone.

No, the cat pulled some cables out at the back of the box and they had some bother putting them back in the correct sockets.
