    BB Losing connection constantly

      BB Losing connection constantly


      My sister has just moved over to Sky and has taken out BB with them...however she's having some problems.

      The router is constantly losing connection (the LED on the router goes orange), rebooting the router doesn't help..she has to make a telephone call which then turns the LED green and it works then for short period of time.

      Before too long the same happens and the same process follows.

      Any ideas what could be the cause as she's had several BT engineers out yet none have been able to get to the bottom of it....must be a line fault somewhere but they haven't been very helpful so far.

      Line stats are:

      The noise margin constantly drops as soon as the router comes up.

      If using the phone starts the broadband, this usually points to a high resistance fault. The BT engineers will not bother if the phone is working OK. She may get help by phoning Sky and explaining what is happening. Unfortunately, it depends on who she speaks to whether she will get anywhere.
