All the information I have had so far is that we would receive a small white monitoring device, not a full blown black CISCO router.

I have just received this from Samknows,-
      Hi Tom,

The trial starts from Monday, we will be sending out links to your statistics early next week.

None of us knew what was being sent out as the information wasn't given until you actually fill all the bits in and then start looking at the website itself for further info. Once it's done I expect you may be allowed to re-flash the firmware to a standard one and make use if it properly.

I am pretty sure I read somewhere about a 'little white box', but research reveals that the previous tests were done with modified WRT54GL routers. Previous results can be found here-

I found it!! It was concerning USA so I assumed for a while it would be the same here. Article -

There is so much information on Samknows that it is overwhelming at times.

Re: Help SamKnows and Ofcom - Monitoring your Broadband Performance

Well my Sam Knows router arrived last week and so I plugged it in - at the same time I decided to check my router stats and was glad I did - sky had started the migration of my line over to their so called "new" network and my download speed went from a dismal 1.5Mbps down to under 1Mbps!!

Nothing to do with the Sam Knows router but was a bit of an eye opener - managed to get on the blower and cancel the migration (thankfully) but my speeds are still stuck at under the 1Mbps.

Time to phone India again by the looks of things

: How the heck to do I change my signature?
Click the link for User CP on the menu bar above, under 'Your Control Panel' Scroll down and click the Edit my Signature link.

I hope you were successful in stopping the migration to SVBN, very few have been. Once it starts it usually goes through.

      Thanks for the info Isitme.

Looks like I was just quick enough to cancel the migration - got a letter from Sky telling me that I am no longer being moved - but may still be in the future (that will be when I leave sky at this rate).

Re: Help SamKnows and Ofcom - Monitoring your Broadband Performance

Rxd my Cisco router from Samknows on the 12th Apr and has been plugged in since then. Rxd an email today containing my login/password details and requesting me to reset the router to start new tests.
I checked the site and saw that some testing had already been done, apart from my lowly connection speed everything else was tickety boo.
Nicer router, wish I could use it as a replacement
