      Sky BB Max in Partners Name - Split Up - New Contract in My Name What Happens?

      Hi there, I am hoping someone might have already been through this?

      We currently have Sky registered in my partners name.

      We are going our seperate ways so I have decided to sign up for Sky in my name and the old account is being cancelled (but hasn't been yet)

      We have BB max, and Sky HD.

      The website allowed me to arrange the TV package no problem and given me an installation date of next Friday, but when I tried to arrange the Broadband it said that I could not have broadband on my line (same phone number as current broadband).

      As my partner is yet to cancel the tv/bb package we have at the mo I take it can't arrange the new BB till that happens.

      What I need to know is once my partner cancels the old BB how long till that goes off, how long till i can register the BB in my name and how long till the new BB will come back on?

      Also, as my email address was originally setup as the main account what will happen to that?

      I will get a new MYSKY login so won't be able to manage the old email address - or will the old MYSKY still exist, online, just have no TV/BB package attached to it? And will I still be able to receive the email from that old account?

      I assume that your partner would cancel, and give upto 30 days notice, if she were to pay for that 30 days, then I cannot see why Sky couldn't remove it asap

      Once the tag is removed, then it would be a case of Sky re-ordering it, and should take approx 10 days afterwards from point of ordering.

      I do know that Sky use flexi cease, so what could happen, is once it is cancelled, you may still get the broadband on that line. Sky will deny that you have broadband though, until BT tell Sky that the connection has taken place. It is not guaranteed that this would happen though.

      And will I still be able to receive the email from that old account?
      I believe that once you have a Sky email address, it's for life, so you should be good to go on still using this.

      Another quick question, I'd like to keep the HD box that we already have (namely due to it having HDMI and component and I know new one's don't have that) - can I ask installer chappy to not install new box (but give me it) and connect new account with my old box?
