      Re: New Connection Speed .........

Are you with Sky for line rental? maybe you've been moved over to the SVBN?
Lost speed with move to SVBN

Have you tried removing the power lead from you modem and leaving it off for a min then back on again? This seemed to resolve a similar issue after reading that forum post. Hopefully one of the more experienced techs on here can help you out but theres a quick suggestion if you havnt tried it already.

Your line seems to have degraded somehow, but funnily enough the change in your speed, 85/76Kbps, is negligible. Are you on the SVBN?

im not sure what SVBN is so i dont know if im on it, and there the stats after sky configured the line again for me, they couldnt get it back to 8000kbps, my upload also dropped after they dropped the max delays to 8/8

      Re: New Connection Speed .........

the line attenuation was fine before i phoned sky, the speed dropped from 8000 kbps and seemed to have been capped at 7424kbps, so i phoned them they uncapped it but somehow caused my line attenuation to go higher? and these are the stats now after rebooting.....

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 7653 kbps 852 kbps
Line Attenuation 45.0 db 24.0 db
Noise Margin 7.1 db 8.5 db

If you have Sky phone rental, then you have probably been switched to the Sky Voice and Broadband Network. If you don't you will not have and there is some other reason for the change.

could it have caused my attenuation to go up? because before i phoned them it was fine until they configured my line.....

i think ill have 2 just stick with how it is, and accept it
even tho it never hits 8000kbps everytime it sync's like it did do

Actually, the line has been changed to adsl2plus from g.dmt, showing the rise in attenuation and lowering of SNR. To be fair, you could ring sky up and get them to change you back to g.dmt 8192kbps downstream... but with your attenuation, you're doing quite well as it is.

It looks like it, but the very high upload (928) would seem to refute that it was on G,DMT. I think it is more likely to be Sky's new equipment returning a different figure.
