      That is a big drop in noise margin. Are you plugged into the Master socket or Test socket? Have you plugged anything else into the phone line?

      That is the problem, your internal wiring is causing interference. Fitting ands using a filtered faceplate would fix this.

      In the meantime, depending on the filter you have you may be able to work around it. Plug the filter into the Test socket, then the router into the filter. Now see if you can pug the faceplate into the phone side of the filter, to allow use of your extensions. This will work with some filters, but not all. It is a bit Heath Robinson, but if you can't manage it with one filter try plugging a second one into the first one, leaving the router plugged into the first one, then plug in the faceplate. This would be temporary until you obtain and fit a filtered faceplate.
