Smile Is it worth going for???

      Hi All

This is my first post. I have just got my Mac code from Wanadoo/orange and have recieved my email from sky asking me to call them to order the broadband service. Having read all the unhappy posts I am having second thoughts about signing up. Is it worth doing or should I stay with Orange (no problems at all 2yrs).

Any advise good and bad greatly accepted

It seems as you have already discovered that it can be a hit and miss afair.

I personally would wait a few weeks to see if things settle down.

If you were one of the first to order things were probably ok - but now who knows.

      Hi Chpa_uk

If you have the patience, then go for it!

      There some happy endings
      There are also Unhappy ones

I tried to get SKY BB (from Pipex) in anticipation of a reasonable service from them.
It didn't happen for me, & my personal experiance was a nightmare with them.

However, I am sure there are others out there who have been OK.

@ DingDong - You made a good point. WAIT until things settle down!

I would second that, don't bother ordering just yet, seems they have some sorting out to do.

However, if you dont mind being without broadband for a few days (what can happen during the process) then feel free.

I'm setup and running now and am impressed with the performance.

I've been having problems for months with another ISP. So registered with Sky, they took a while to reply but once we got the ok, the whole process was quite quick. The router arrived before activation date and got an adsl signal even though my old router couldn't. Activation date was 28 September and it was all up and running when I switched everything on last night. So I'm very happy so far. :-)

      Thumbs up

Thanks for the the responses, As orange have said that until I give my new provider the MAC code they will be my provider. So I think I will hold on. Maybe it will be a good present in time for Xmas!!!!!!, I will have to keep an eye on this forum (great resource!!!)

      Thanks for the advise.

Thats very good to hear I just wish that we had more members with the same experience as yours, lately most posts have been about terrible problems members are experiencing.

I have noticed. I was expecting the worst and certainly we were given some misinformation about dates over the phone. But my mate round the corner had no problem and would be on the same exchange. Mind you he does work for Sky!
