Sky Broadband - Gaming wireless the setpup??

I am on the understanding that the standard modem sent by Sky only does a certain wireless freq??

I was told by someone in PC world this is not enough to do any gaming over going wireless on it.....

So, can anyone help me with what I must do?
I basicly understand that I must buy a new wireless modem that does the better freq wireless or something, can anyone tell me what I exactly need to get wireless in my house but still keep my gaming PINGS the same as wired.

I currently have my PC with only a netcard for wired so I may need something for the PC too.

Basicly the wife is fed up with wires everywhere and wants my PC out the front rooM! I can't go runing wires up and around the house so wireless is the only option.

      Thanks

Take a look into Homeplugs / Powerline, these adapters let you run a network connection over your power in your home giving you a connection wherever you plug them into a socket. (better than wireless unless you have a decent wireless N hardware)

Do i just buy the 85mb for my 7mb line and plug it in a power socket?

Will this slow down my net or still give me 7mb?

It will not slow down you net connection at all and will ensure a good connection between your PC and router, much better than any wireless.

Re: Sky Broadband - Gaming wireless the setpup??

      update-

I have my PC, my xbox 360 and my wifes Laptop which I would want connected.

How would I manage this with the powerconnect things?

I can always unplug my pc and put ti in my xbox to get over that i think, but my wifes pc on same time as my pc/xbox, how would that work?

And if my wife is down stairs (Where modem is) can she directly plug into the modem still for internet access for when she is not upstairs?

      Thanks

Your wife can direct connect to the router downstairs, you could use the homeplugs. Your biggest mistake here was talking to someone at PC World lol

Well, it was not a big mistake as I bought nothing from them!

So bsaicly if I buy just 2 Power plugs 85mb I good to go?

One goes downstairs and in router and wall socket and then oen up stairs?

WIll i still get my strong 7mb connection?
