    Really slow speeds

      Really slow speeds

      I just currently switched to sky 20meg broadband which was activated on friday but since i started using sky broadband my internet speed has been terrible any help would be much appreciated here is my router status

      Modem
      ADSL Firmware Version A2pB023o.d20h
      Modem Status Up
      DownStream Connection Speed 390
      UpStream Connection Speed 796
      VPI 0
      VCI 38

      Hi could you post your router stats How to get your router statistics copy and paste to your next post
      also did you know that DLM will be running on your line for at least 10 days

      Where does the router plug into on the telephone line, how many telephone sockets are there and are you sure you have filters on all sockets in use and that the filter is the first thing on there? The adaptor fitted for sky tv is just a splitter and not a filter so check that one first if the Sky tv box is on the line still.

      the router is plugged into the socket upstairs so i can connect it with my xbox. their are 2 telephone sockets the one upstairs and one downstairs which doesnt have a microfilter il will try that now and let you know how it goes and my skybox is not conected to a phone line so i dont thik that is a factor

      fitted the microfilter and still no change in the speed heres the latest router stats

      Connection Speed 352 kbps 796 kbps
      Line Attenuation 44.0 db 22.6 db
      Noise Margin 30.3 db 9.5 db

      Yep there you go. You can leave it there and let DLM run now but to be honest you would be better off in the main socket. You should see a gradual increase in speed now. If not a call to Sky tech support will sort it.

      Hi as PaulSky say`s just let DLM do its work the thing that changed was the noise margin downstream to 30.3db that will gradually come down and your connection speed will gradually go up.

      Hi it depends on your line but you should start to see an increase in the next few days DLM can at the most take 20 days but normally about 10 days the main thing is leave the router on. Any problems post on this thread and there is always someone who will try and help to solve them.
