Are you using wireless? If so you proably should try another channel. Download and run Inssider from the link below, this will show the channels at use in your area. Choose a channel as far from those in use as possible. Do the check when your connection usually drops.

You are syncing a bit low for your attenuation, but with a healthy noise margin. There is nothing there that indicates that the internet will drop. Your test socket may give better results, but I don't think that is your problem. Have a look at your router Log in the router settings, this will show if and when your connection is dropping.

      Re: Keep losing connection

some routers read the line attenuation wrong, this is what i think anyway......... because on my sagem it says 42db, but when i used a belkin, it said 45/46db, so i think some routers think the lines a bit shorter, i beleive my speed, 8 meg is fine for 45/46db, if it was 42db i should be getting 8.5mpbs - 9 mbps but i beleive its a bit longer than what this router thinks it is...... maybe hes lines the same? as for it dropping, could be a upnp problem, as it has weird glitches......

      Re: Keep losing connection

Your router is definitely loosing sync. It is difficult to say why, unless your line is subject to some really bad noise spikes.

Do you have any noise on the voice phone? Check by dialling 1 digit and listening. You should only hear a very faint hiss at most.

How long have you been connected to Sky Broadband?

Do you leave your router switched on or do you just connect it when you need it?

Can you now post your stats from - How to test your ADSL in the Master Socket
