BB speeds half to what they were.

Hi i am on sky max and was getting download speeds of 4.5 mb and uploads speeds of near enough the maximum for being on the sky max bb package.
I have noticed now though that i am only getting about 2 mb download speeds and my upload speed is nowhere near what it used to be either. my setup is wired and exactly the same as it was when i was getting 4.5 mb speeds so am abit confused to why i am now only getting 2mb can anyone shed any light on this please ? i am wasting money being on sky max to only get 2 mbps when i should be getting 4.5 mb and near enough max upload speeds.

      Thanks Mick.

thats it, and yes you're capped - can get at least double what you've got at the mo...you'd need to call Sky to get the cap lifted...

You aren't capped for downloading too much, something happened on the line or DLM kicked in.

Re: BB speeds half to what they were.

I just got off the phone to sky and they have lifted the cap to 3.5 mb i asked why only 3.5 and he said bt recomends that cause if it goes any higher i would get faults etc on the line. I used to get 4.5 without a problem as far as i can remember so why not put me backup to 4.5.

you'd need to call back, sounds like an agent going by the BT estimates...
