      Thanks for the help chaps.

      I wasnt really having a problem with my lines it is more a cost saving excersise but seeing as you asked I took readings from wireless and connected at the test socket and they were pretty much the exact same:

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
      Connection Speed 10234 kbps 765 kbps
      Line Attenuation 29 db 16 db
      Noise Margin 8 db 6 db


      You will note that my speeds have improved .... last night SKY started tweaking it.

      What I have noticed is an improvent of around 10ms in my ping. Not sure if this is because of their tweaking or the fact that I have left it connected in the test socket. Thats a question can you keep the router connected into the Test Socket permanently ?

      Yes you can, not a pretty as a filtered faceplate but not a problem.
