7Mb to half Mb on Sky Connect?!?!

Is the traffic management this bad? I had hoped they were still testing but we're 20 days in now.

My stats say:

ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 7232 kbps 448 kbps
Line Attenuation 31.0 db 15.5 db
Noise Margin 7.6 db 22.0 db

Off peak I can download files at 400-700 KB/sec which I'm more than happy with but at 5pm the same file drops to as low as 30-50 KB/sec!

The broadband is used for a lot of the day but nothing heavy on the usage allowance, mostly browsing.

Connect is the only Sky package available to me but if they can't improve this I'm cancelling it along with Sky Talk.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

That is the current state of Sky Connect, it has been like this for over a year now, the only option is to move to another ISP.

Re: 7Mb to half Mb on Sky Connect?!?!

Just called Sky and apparently I have to write to Subscription Services to cancel. I'm going to get rid of Sky Talk with line rental and Broadband Connect.

I understand I'm given a MAC code to change Broadband provider but how will all this work without interruption to my phone or broadband?

Re: 7Mb to half Mb on Sky Connect?!?!

Make sure you get your MAC before you mention cancelling anything, this will ensure a seamless change over with little or no downtime. If they cancel before you get you MAC, you could be off line for about 2 weeks, as once it is cancelled you cannot get a MAC..
