      Upgraded from Everyday to Unlimited

      Hi Guys

I upgraded my broadband service last night from everyday to unlimited. When on the phone to CS the guy said that it became live instantly and i am now on the unlimited service.

I done a quick check on speedtest.net and the skyuser speed test which showed no difference in speed.

My question is do i need to leave a it a few days for it to bed in so to say, also do i turn router off and back on to reset it for any changes to happen.

Also just ordered faceplate which will likely arrive in next few days, so will i leave the switch over of faceplates for a while until the line settles from upgrading

any help or info is always appreciated.

      Cheers

      Duncan

What are your current stats? If you were not receiving very near the maximum on Everyday, you are unlikely to see an increase in download. (Unless your connection was badly configured.)

What we need is the router stats, How to get your router statistics For these it does not matter whether it is wired or wireless.

Re: Upgraded from Everyday to Unlimited

ok i done a router test plugged into master socket and also another one plugged directly into test socket

      resualts are below:

      master socket:

      stem Up Time 00:40:32
Port Status TxPkts RxPkts Collisions Tx B/s Rx B/s Up Time
      WAN PPPoA 11335 25611 0 511 14412 00:39:45
      LAN 10M/100M 3391 2418 0 1392 203 00:40:29
      WLAN 11M/54M 24053 12853 0 13194 517 00:40:21

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 6144 kbps 606 kbps
Line Attenuation 46.0 db 26.8 db
Noise Margin 10.9 db 17.0 db

      test socket:

      stem Up Time 00:05:04
Port Status TxPkts RxPkts Collisions Tx B/s Rx B/s Up Time
      WAN PPPoA 2128 2718 0 1370 11322 00:04:06
      LAN 10M/100M 2909 2029 0 9317 1442 00:05:01
      WLAN 11M/54M 1325 2038 0 1524 659 00:04:53

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 6144 kbps 606 kbps
Line Attenuation 46.0 db 26.8 db
Noise Margin 14.2 db 18.5 db

is it too early to worry about increases if i have just upgraded 1 day ago or will i leave it and check in a week or so.

Any feedback on test results and whether i can squeeze anymore out of connection would be much appreciated

      cheers

      Duncan

Re: Upgraded from Everyday to Unlimited

You have not been upgraded yet, but your figures show that your internal wiring is dragging your speed down slightly, probably 1-2 Mb. If you buy, fit and use a filtered faceplate this will cure the problem and allow you line to perform to its full potential.
