      intermittent connection

      hes how it is guys
few weeks back had problems with internet emailed them told them what was wrong did all there tests. they got back to me said they stabilized my line and are goin to try and increase my speed kept my router on for the 10 days like they said do i noiticed increase in the speed but was not as high as it should be.
few days ago it just stoped and started all on its own reset my router and the internet light was amber and wouldnt change so turned it off left it for a day then when turned on again the light turned to red for a brief moment then went to amber then flashing green. contacted sky again they replied saying they have reconfigured my line for the best speed but now its just worse than ever and still cutting off. i myself think theres a line fault but what can i say to sky to ever concider them giving me a new line put in?

here are the stats from test socket

Connection Speed 3840 kbps 416 kbps
Line Attenuation 44.0 db 25.0 db
Noise Margin 6.8 db 16.0 db

You should be getting more than 4 meg, but with the SNR showing 7 db almost, looks like thats all your line can handle im afraid.....

well your sync is lower now, was 3840kbps, now its 3136kbps, which has made your SNR go higher because your speeds lower.......... you have very similar line attenuation stats as me, im getting 7616kbps download and 832kbps upload, you should be seeing around 7000kbps download, and around 796 kbps upload.

I dont have a sagem router, so i dont know what the red light means sorry.

      Re: intermittent connection

im wondering why your only getting that speed when your line attenuation stats are similar to mine,

      Connection Speed 7616kbps 832kbps
      Line Attenuation 41db 23db
      Noise Margin 8db 7db

thats my connection speed, and my line is around the same length as yours

It probably means the router or PSU is faulty and need replaced. One of the Skybods will say for sure.

      Boothy_08
      thanks for the help
i used to get around 700 kbps when i first started on sky and then it slowly went down
like you said everyone i asked also said i should be getting around 7000kbps
the line in my house is pretty old and looks worn down would that have anything to do with the poor connection

      Isitme
thanks i thought it might be the router i mentioned it to sky but they kind of ignored the fact i told them
