We need the full statistics beside the 'sky test' button via the 'show statistics' section to give further analysis. Remember, you're on an UP-TO 20mbps line and it depends on the length and condition of the line on what you'll receive.

In theory, if your line can push out more speed (which we will confirm via full stats), then yes the line testing should optimise it higher. However, at 5.3mbps, youtube should not be a drag, nor should pages load slow. I can do both comfortably on a 1.5mbps connection via wireless.

The sky test button is there to return common error codes to troubleshoot your connection. Not needed in most cases.

Test socket results show you have internal wiring issues, mate. Even from the test socket results, I'd expect a good bit more SNR to spare.

Are you running an extension cable from the test seocket? What exactly do you have connected to the test socket?

I can almost guarantee you that's an issue.

Replace the extension rj11 for the short dsl cable sky gave you and instead run a longer ethernet cable upstairs to your computer and then re-post the stats from the test socket.

Did the noise margin change? It should go up a lot.
