There is not really any difference, you must have good internal wiring, so I would leave things as they were before. Get through to Sky and ask them to lift the cap on your line. They may ask for a password, but they may not.

      Thanks for all the help.

Just done another test and the uploads have gone up to 0.70mb/s so i think i will leave it for the recommended 10 days and see what i can get (11mb/s would be nice :P)

      Thanks

Re: Upgrading to sky Broadband unlimited help.

Hello, If anyone is here i have waited it out to see what sky will do and im still getting rubbish speeds (http://www.speedtest.net/result/715535801.png)

Does anyone know who i have to call (what number) and what i have to ask for to get my cap removed because this is stupid and i keep getting rubbish speeds.

Would it just be skys normal number for broadband? (08442 410 515)

and what would i ask for

      Thanks

      Liam

Yes, that is correct. You will have to jump through the hoops with Tier 1 before you can get to CST who will fix it.

If you are still syncing at 9Mb, you should be getting 7.7MB/s or better. If you are not something else is causing the problem.

Re: Upgrading to sky Broadband unlimited help.

The speed that is shown on the BT site has nothing to do with it. That is the speed you would get if you were with BT on their Max product. You are on the Sky Max product and can get much more. You are being fobbed off by Sky, your stats, unless they have changed, clearly show you could get more. You should get 12 Mb at the very minimum.

Call them back and tell them you have improved your wiring and are certain you should have a better speed. If the Tier 1 lot will not pass you to CST tell them you want to speak to a Manager, or you will take your complaint higher. Don't be fobbed off by Tier 1.
