      connection speed downgraded?

I've been on sky's unlimited broadband package since last year -

According to the connection details on "my broadband" webpage on my sky account, my line was set at 15360Kb down and 1312Kb up, after the line test.

Checking the router confirmed that these were in fact the connection speeds I was getting.

However, I've noticed that for a few weeks now, my connection speed has been downgraded. According to my router, I'm only getting 12285Kb down and 412Kb up.

I've rebooted the router a few times, but it always reconnects at the same speed.

Anyone know anything about why this would be happening?

      thanks in advance

      Re: connection speed downgraded?

can you post up your router stats from the current location and then from your test socket(see link below) so we can see why this might of happened?

      Hi,
current router results copied and pasted above. I've not moved the router or recabled anything since installation, not added or removed any phones. I have added a laptop (wireless) though. Some rummaging required to plug into the test socket, will post details asap. Thanks.

      Ok,

I've plugged into the engineer's test socket and rebooted the rooter. Values now as above. I notice the noise margin has gone down 2 on downstream and oddly enough up 1 on upstream.

      Does this help any?

      cheers

      Re: connection speed downgraded?

      just another thought....
I installed utorrent over christmas - I've only had it running for a couple of hours in the mornings (to avoid hitting peak traffic), but it will have hit my bandwidth usage- I presumed this wasn't an issue because as far as I'm aware sky don't throttle on their max/unlimited package (which is what I'm on). Could I be mistaken?

      Re: connection speed downgraded?

It looks like DLM has kicked in and capped your line. Call Sky and ask them to manually configure it back to what it was and suspend DLM if it is running. Make sure they configure upstream as well as downstream.
