"Yes the router is connected to the master socket, no hardware changes have been made since having a sudden loss of speed going from syncing at 3900kbps to 3200kbps, attenuation is also slightly lower so i don't see why the connection is slow. "

"Thank you for contacting Sky Help Centre regarding your broadband speed issue. After looking into your account and your line. I can confirm your line is configured at 3552kbps and your training in at 3232kbps. I have managed to re-configured your line to 3296kbps. This is what your line can handle. Can you change your microfilters. If your still having problems please contact us on details below or by email."

You may find you are no better off, unless the new ISP can make improvements to your line which Sky are not prepared to do.

      Not very helpful comments
If these are the worst stats you have seen, you have not seen much.

Hi if you have a problem put your stats on your next post. I am sure this is the strangest request for help I have seen.

Re: what the F just happened ?!?

Just a quick update; sync speed still the same etc.
Have noticed that BT have installed a larger 'upgraded' green box half the way down my street - since they have installed this is when the speed ****ed up.
I've also noticed LOTS of BT Openreach White vans around this area.

Anywho i am getting virgin 10mb installed on saturday - they fitted the fibre optic connection right outside my house on wednesday so should be up and running on saturday

Finally i will be free from horrible 20th century speeds.
It's because i live far from the exchange unfortunately, unless i lived basically in the middle of town ( which is a complete ****hole ) i would be getting much better speeds.

Up to 50Mb - Broadband - Virgin Media

I suppose it depends on how it is done, even a 75% reduction would still leave you with a very usable connection.
i recently upgraded to 50mb as i could not cope with the traffic management of the 10 and 20mb packages which kicked in like clockwork. my speeds have been consistent so far with 6mb/s average speed on sabnzbd+ and virgin confirmed before i ordered there is currently no traffic management on this package. i guess they will introduce traffic management when they roll out their 100mb! just wish it didnt cost me a fortune =(

EDIT: "Please note that Size: XXL customers are not affected." - also pulled that off the virgin media website and the table of traffic management shows non-applicable for 50mb package
