      Hi all

Is there a way of setting Font & Text as a default, instead of having to select what I want everytime I write and email?

What client are you using? If you are using Outlook, click Tools>Options then the Mail Format tab. You can choose the Stationary and Font you want to use there.

In Windows Live Mail it is Menus>Options, then the Compose tab.

Note - When downloading always select the Custom install or you will end up with stuff you don't want.

I am using the client as supplied with Sky Broadband, which I believe is GoogleMail

      Re: Font & Text Settings

Can I compose messages using different fonts, colour and other formatting?
Yes, you can easily customise your messages by clicking the relevant icons above the Compose window. If you don't seen any icons then click Rich Formatting to display all the options.

thats all i could find on the sky help centre regarding fonts so it looks like you cant set a default, you could use windows mail or outlook express or just click on the font you want to use at the top of the email you are typing

      Re: Font & Text Settings

I am afraid if you are using Webmail and not a Client, such as Outlook/Express, Windows Live, Thunderbird, etc., there is no way I know of to set a default Font.

Maybe someone else can suggest a way.

      Re: Font & Text Settings

      Many thanks everyone.

It seems like I have more problems than I thought.

Outlook Tells me I have WAB.DLL missing though I am trying to resolve this. As for Windows Live. I have that up and running, but have only used this with Hotmail and one of the problems I have there, seems to be based around the Address Book.

I have just moved over from AOL where I was for the last 15 years, and all their stuff seems to be a lot different. Plus, my Office is made up from O2K , OXP and all sorts of bits and pieces, so looks like I may have to ditch Outlook and use Win Live. My OS is Win 7, upgraded from Vista HP.

Cup of tea and back to the drawing board

WAB.dll is missing as Outlook 2000 isn't compatible with Windows 7 - the WAB was ditched ages ago AFAIK...Google-ing WAB.dll Windows 7 brings up issues linked to Outlook 2000 so uninstall it and try using Windows Live Mail again...
