You should get a bit more upload, but your download looks to be at its maximum. As IWNTE is always pointing out, if a line is manually configured before the training is finished, there is always a chance that DLM will kick in.

      Okay thanks for the information.

I actually want DLM to kick in, I don't trust this manual config. :P

The trouble with DLM is that it is very sensitive and the least problem on your line will cause it to set your speed lower than necessary. This does not happen often with manual configuration. The only reason DLM is used is to save money. When thousands of lines are being configured, manual configuration costs much more than DLM.

      Re: What can I expect?

Alrighty, a little update. When my mum was on the phone to Sky, the guy on the phone said (after they had configured the speed to 17407kbps), that over the next few days my speed will vary and that they will try to increase this speed further and see if it's stable. They said that they will try all the way up to 20mb/s.

      I don't suppose I've been put on a mini-DLM type of thing?

Like, three quarters of the way through a DLM process perhaps. I'll keep an eye on it over the next few days. :P

so DLM had finished the first time? there's no mini-DLM, chances are they set the line and turned it back on so it might go up, might go down...depends on how the line behaves

      Re: What can I expect?

Well initially, DLM didn't start, or I didn't let it should I say. The day my connection became active, I got impatient, and didn't let the 72 hours limit go past, and rang Sky for a manual configuration. And they started explaining DLM, but the guy on the phone was very helpful and he manually configured the thing for us, and then said the above stuff. Still at 17407/765 kbps, so I'm just waiting for any signs of an increase.
