You have an 8 day cooling off period, ring now and get your MAC code and use it with another ISP, don't wait!!! and don't be fobbed off, it is not something youe end and it is not the line settelling.

If you post your exchange details here we may be able to help you choose a more suitable ISP this time around.

As long as you can get on the TalkTalk LLU that has just been installed, I think I would chance them, the LLU package they offer is meant to be quite good although I would never use their standard BT one.

The only downside I can see with this is that I think they force you to use their line and phone package as well, this will make it harder to leave if you ever decided too.

Failing that and if you want to take the safer option, I would opt for Plusnet, if you are a gamer, you could go for the gamers package which manages the latency on the connection very well. They do have a download limit but I think you can use it off peak hours without it counting towards it.

Others are:- Zen, ADSL24 and IdNet with Zen being the best off them all but at a price.

It says it is installed in your exchange so the only way is to ring them and get them to agree 100% that you will be on it, if you can I would get this in writing or e-mail.

I doubt that Sky will bother with the router although you will have to flash it with different firmware to allow it to be used on another ISP.

Zen are very good, just not the cheapest (which is why they are good), Plusnet are also good so either one of the two, just make sure you don't tie yourself into any long contracts.

I can also recommend NewNet, so far, excellent service, fast set-up. 12G Limit and unlimited off peak at just under 18 per month.
