      Recent disconnects and Slow speeds.

Hi all I hope this is the correct forum to be posting in, I apologize if it isn't. As the topic title states I have been having recent disconnects (router looses internet connection PC stays connected to router) and slow speeds. I am currently using the test socket behind the BT Backplate and the router is directly connected to this test socket through the ADSL microfilter. (An extention cable is connected to the filter to my bedroom for the telephone) Here are test results from my router and also information (distance etc) on my exchange.

yep your in the right section alright

the noise margin is very low, is your telephone line clear or do you have any crackling/background noise and have you tried to changing over that adsl filter for a new one? is there any difference in stats with the telephone extension disconnected?

Yeah the telephone line seems to be clear and no background noise, the noise margin managed to get to 7 without the phone connected at all but seems to fluctuate between 3 to 6 mainly. I might go out tomorrow and buy a brand new filter as the results are around the same between two of the filters that I have tested. Can snow and ice weather conditions affect this as we had heavy snow last week ands its all ice and slush now etc. Just thought now that maybe the conditions are affecting the connection aswell.

Yep, will not hurt to try another filter if you get one, i used to have a fair few problems with my line during heavy rain (i was lucky and had first gen netgear router which i could amend sync to lower speed for a day or two)
