      Auto Power Off Mode?!?!?!

Could someone or sky bring in a power down function where you login to your router and pick a time period where you know you would be either sleeping or out at work which powers down the router and then brings back on etc.

I think it would be a brilliant function which could save alot of electricity for the user and the world.

What do you guys think? I know you can buy these crappy plug in things but their not the most user friendly now are they? Why not control things right at the source with a simple to use user feature?

Would love to know if this is possible, look forward to your posts.

I think this would be a right pain in the backside. Routers should be left on and not switched off. If you want to save some power then disable wireless in the router and use a wired connection, cuts router power consumption by around 45%

Brian69 - would you mind telling me how to disable the wireless function (from the router) on the dark grey Sagem router? Many thanks

I am not using my sagem at the moment, but on the service page in the router on the right it tells you how, the orange wireless light on the router will then go out.

After logging into the router (go to http://192.168.0.1) and enter the username as admin and password as sky you'll go to the routers settings pages. Click setup in the top left hand corner and you'll be taken to the wireless settings. Untick 'Enable Wireless Access Point' and the arial icon (as said) will go out.
