      Can I please also ask a quick 'leaving' question?

      A relative is looking to leave Sky (they have been with them 2-3 years), and has requested a MAC via the Sky website.

      Reading through old posts, am I right in thinking they need to phone to cancel the contract too, or is this 'presumed' via the MAC request?

      The MAC - once used and ISP changed - should be enough to close the contract. Once you've gone live with your new ISP it's always good practice to call and make sure it's all cancelled down, or check your account online...
