      Re: increase speeds

      It's 192.168.0.1

We'll need to see some stats first off (follow the link below) and also give a description of how many telephone sockets you use and what exactly you have plugged into them.

How to get your router statistics

      Re: increase speeds

It's an absolute disgrace! Is it just Sky, or is the Net getting slower? I'm on 8meg and the speed is nothing but shambolic 80% of the time. It's weird because when broadband first came out it was fast, and I mean faster than this (and this was 1meg btw!).

What the heck is going on? I can't even upload on youtube and browse at the same time anymore! Is this because of illegal downloading?

Edit: Avoid Sky and Tiscali at all cost.

      Re: increase speeds

It's the ****ing government to blame! They're forcing these internet companies to slow you down in a bit to reduce illegal downloads!

Sorry for double posting (kinda angry!).

Your on Sky connect and if you search around the forum you will many threads explaining the horrendous problems subscribers are suffering. Connect is a rebranded BT product which throttles speeds at peak times, at this time of the year due to the many people on the net speed will be severely throttled.

      They all throttle.

But even with bandwidth throttling, surely 30kbs should be fast enough to load most pages in under 5 seconds!

Also, it is not the goverment, it is you the user and also the ISP's, the user seems to think that they can download the whole of the internet for next to nothing and the ISP's pretend to allow them to get them to sign up.

      They do throttle, unfortunately.

Is that what they tell you? Companies will always look to exploit, lie and make you out to be the one at fault. Why? Because they can get away with it.

Edit: Anything to avoid splashing lots of cash.

What the heck is this "LLU" anyway? Man, you always need something else... And I bet it costs money? Thought so. What will it be next? "MLLU"? "URRS"?
