      It works because Hotspot Shield hides what I'm viewing (or downloading) from Sky. It must encrypt my outgoing packets or something.

      From what I read of their product you connect to them to access the Internet - so so long as Sky don't knacker VPN-based connection you'll be fine...

      Could be wrong, though - might recommend it to my Dad to try out...

      It hides the address of websites (the"youtube.com" whatever part of the packet).
