      Re: New stats

I am not trying to chase you away, but the guys over at O2user.co.uk (our sister site) are more familiar with O2 stats than the ones here. You should nip over and join up.

With regards your phone line, don't take too much notice of the colours of the wires, it looks like yours are not the standard. It could be you are looking at one of the main incoming wires, these are always connected to A and B terminals. If you do not have another terminal, apart from these, I would leave well alone. A photo could get you a more definite reply.

      Re: New stats

I might as well leave it as it is. Kitz checker says the max for my attenuation is 13meg and since im syncing over that i am happy. I will see if the line is stable and then may ask O2 to lower my noise margin to 3db to see if the line can hold and remain stable. Thanks for the help, really appreciated.

Btw, is 12/13meg input right after TCP overheads?

      Thanks

      Re: New stats

With a sync of 13900kbps, you should download around 12200kbps or roughly 1.45MB/s.

      Re: New stats

Btw mate, i had another look at the socket. It looks as if the ring wire has already been disconnected. There are 3 screws- A, B and E for Earth. There is 1 wire each into A and B and none to E so i guess the wiring is at an optimum level.

      Re: New stats

Do you have extensions wired to the socket? If you don't you will not have a ring wire, this was only needed to power extension sockets.

      Re: New stats

Come to think of it, no, there are no extensions which is most probably why the ring wire isn't present.

Can i ask another question, sorry for bombarding you with them!

Since im using homeplugs, is it ok to keep them on 24/7 and will electricity bill rise alot because of this?
