Question Speed has actually increased !

Recently the sync speed down has been poor, around 3.4.
3 days ago it was synced at 3.8 which i was suprised at, and overnight it syncd at 3.95. It's a pathetic speed for most of you on like 20mb lines but i've been stuck with 3mb for absolutely ages and have been contemplating moving to fibre optics.

Attenuation has stayed the same, so what do you think caused the increased speed/stability ?

You must have a lot of money to get fibre optics to your house.

Post your router stats and let's see if you can get anymore from the copper cable you currently have.

What do you mean alot of money ? I know it's coppor from here to the green box, but the main exchange is like 3 miles away. So either way, fibre optics is certain to be faster. My attenuation is so high, so there would be nothing to lose by switching to fibre.

You are right of course, fibre optics will certainly be faster but have you the right equipment and experience to install it yourself? That's a lot of digging etc.

He was only trying to help mate. You can get Virgin Broadband which uses fibre optic for its cable technology but it has to be available in your area to do so. But i wouldn't go with Virgin as they place heavy caps during peak periods; my mate had Virgin cable and he got just lower than 1mb during peak periods.
