Re: Just got Sky Unlimited - but its really SLOW!!!

The line is definitely capped, you can now phone Sky and tell them you have made improvemets to your wiring and would like your speed manually configured. If they ask if you want DLM run, say no you would rather have it done manually.

Have you checked your extension phones are working? It looks like you have the wiring on OK, but circuits can be wired differently. If you are in doubt have a look behind the extension face plates and check what coloured wires are connected to terminals 2 and 5, these are the important ones.

We will get there, don't worry
Need to bring this issue up again. Having been connected to terminals 2, 3 and 5 the phone wasnt't working.

Changing the wires over and connecting as follows results in the phone working again:

      Blue/White - B
      Orange/White - 3
      White/Blue - A

This allows everything to work again, but is this right? the stats have reverted back to:

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 1023 kbps 432 kbps
Line Attenuation 48.5 db 29.0 db
Noise Margin 11.2 db 9.0 db

So the status quo is that the problem is the capping on my line? I will call sky and explain the situation.

Re: Just got Sky Unlimited - but its really SLOW!!!

What you have done is connected to the unfiltered connections, which puts you back where you started. You must use the filtered connections 2 & 5 for the extensions. Did you look at the extensions and note which colours are connected to which terminal. Make the filter plate the same and you should be OK.

Don't call Sky till you get it sorted, you are almost there.

Re: Just got Sky Unlimited - but its really SLOW!!!

Ok, all connected correctly now and phone etc working, I corresponded the master faceplate connections with the extension.
      Router stats are:

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 1023 kbps 606 kbps
Line Attenuation 48.0 db 28.6 db
Noise Margin 28.6 db 17.0 db

Is this the point where I should call sky?

Sorry for the delay, I have been feeding my face. Yes phone them up tell them you have improved your wiring and want your line configured. If they say you are getting as much as you can, tell them that is nonsense and insist on being passed to CST.
