      Exclamation IP Address changes

I don't know if anyone else has noticed this recently, but before my IP Address would only change if the router lost connection/was rebooted.

Now I am noticing a change in IP address usually once a day, with no loss of connection, am using RouterStats v5.8 to monitor the connection, here are the 2 lines from the last log:

      Sun 27 Dec 2009 17:18:57 90.192.143.172 Rx-Noise=7.75 Tx-Noise=8 Rx-Sync=11262 Tx-Sync=1045 LANRxB/s=2249 WANRxB/s=110
      Sun 27 Dec 2009 17:19:29 90.192.143.121 Rx-Noise=7.7 Tx-Noise=8 Rx-Sync=11262 Tx-Sync=1045 LANRxB/s=2249 WANRxB/s=0
      S

As you can see it was changed in only a 32 second window

What makes you think the router didn't reboot? What is your WAN uptime? Also, it's not just something rebooting at your end that can kick a new IP off.

because it normally takes longer than 32 seconds for a reboot, and also a reboot should have been logged and it wasn't, but the uptime shows it rebooted at about 13:49 on Sat

WAN Uptime: 1 day 23hr 02'43" as of now

So your router didn't reboot, like I said, not just YOUR end of things can cause an IP change. Could be equipment on the Sky network end resetting.

That was why I was asking if anyone else had noticed an increase in the frequency of this, Mine normally stays the same, OR I wonder if it has something to do with VyprVPN which I am testing at the moment

Might be the testing, is this the only time it's happened? Only other time I have seen an IP change like that was when a network equipment failure caused it for a lot of people at the same time.

It has been happening for about a couple of weeks, just random changes at differing times about once a day, sometimes skips a day

      Re: IP Address changes

Not just you, I've been getting this aswell.

IP would remain the same for months until the router was left turned off for a while, but recently the IP has just been changing; normally late at night/early morning.
