      bye bye sky

Leaving Sky, they're blocking certain sites at certain times (youtube rapidshare, etc).

I'm trying to download off rapidshare and I can't download it certain times (3pm to12pm), I either get a server error or the message "no more download slots available for free users". But (a big BUT), free dl slots magically become available whenever I connect through someone else's router (through netgear). In fact it's so bad that I just connect through someone else's internet whenever I want something downloaded!

I can't use youtube at certain times either (simple graphics even struggle to load!) so I do the same thing to get youtube to work.

Dont blame you for leaving mate, the problem is being on Connect, a rebranded BT product. You may wish to read other threads on this subject. Best be is to go to a LLU provider such as O2 or BE if they are available in your area. Check the samknows website for that information.

Interesting that, i used to notice awfully slow youtube but it has stopped recently. and sometimes on Rapidshare i get a 544 Server error or something, and to go round this i just put Https://ssl. at the begining of the links.

i think i shall be leaving soon solely due to poor connection speeds on copper cables

Sky do seem to have been mucking about with RapidShare these last 3 - 5 days or so

and this along with cutting my speed by 25% under the smokescreen of DLM

is beginning to cause me to consider leaving sky and return to the devil as most on here would describe it or as most everybody else knows it by

      VIRGIN MEDIA

pity as until late october sky broadband were doing quite well

Dont seem to have a problem with rapidshare myself.... But DLM is there to offer you a more consistent connection in relation to what your line can handle. If you want to post your router sats taken from the test socket then someone may be able to offer you advice before you jump ship and join the traffic shaped industry that is VM.
