      ISP log activity?

      here is a question.

Does SKY log ANY activity on your account? For example, do they log packets to show what you are doing when you are online, if you are using IM, checking emails, accessing websites, what you are downloading and so on? Do they log this type of information for any reason?

      Re: ISP log activity?

I don't think they do. The only thing they will do is monitor your 'usage' but not what you use the bandwidth on. Ofcourse, if you're on unlimited it's OK unless you are thrashing it.

thanks. i understand about the usage but trying to specifically ask if they monitor what you are actually doing. what about if say, the law requires information about user activity such as what they were doing, what was contained, content etc.... ? would ISP 's log this?

No, i don't think they can but i'm not 100% sure on this. Perhaps some ISP will and others not. Beware, some browsers monitor your activity and sell it to third-parties; Chrome springs to mind.

lol thanks. i wasnt referring to that. i just really need to know a solid answer from someone. im just trying to research some things regarding something of a serious matter (unfortunately).

i wouldn't have thought SKY would monitor ALL their customer's activities. that would require so much storage of activities and what not
