If the Homeplugs were performing well before, it is possible they have developed a fault. I have also read that having phone chargers plugged into the circuit can effect the performance. I would imagine that PSUs(Xmas lights?) would have the same effect I am not sure how you would test them, I suppose if you have a friend with a homenetwork, you could ask him to plug them in and try them for you. If they are still within the warranty period, you could try getting them replaced.

Don't want to speak too soon, but I may have sorted it (to a degree anyway). I changed a socket and ethernet patch leads.... I'm now getting:-

      Router Stats
Connection Speed 15667 kbps 946 kbps
Line Attenuation 29 db 15 db
Noise Margin 7 db 7 db

      Sky User Speed Test

      12600Kbps / 780Kbps

I'm happy that the relatively slight loss is due to the degredation via homePlugs. I'll keep an eye on it on the numbers and post if I have any problems. Just want to say thanks to all for the help and advice.
