      rj11 to rj45

      hi guys is it possible to change my inner line i have a extention going from my main box downstairs going to my router upstairs now i have this little block box bit next to my router which has a telephone line to my router is it possible to change that cable going from a rj11 cable to a rj11 torj45 cable and would it make any difference at all be greatful cheers.

      yea i think thats it it has ethernet on one end and a little telephone block bit on the other will this make any difference in speed do you know will it help or will it worse

      What is this extension you mention, is it one of those that you plug in to the front ot your master socket with an RJ45 socket on t'other end?

      er no i think its the little square block telephone block type rj11 type in that pic you showed me that then goes to another block which a bt engineer did it then from this block another rj11 cable runs from that to my router

      RJ11 is the plug used to plug into the filter at one end and the router at the other. Your link is to a Yanky article where the RJ11 is used as a standard telephone plug. They are sometimes used on the handset end of a UK phone, with a BT plug at the other end.

      I think you are going to have to be a bit clearer in what you want to do. Putting an Rj11 plug on an ethernet cable with an RJ45 plug at the other end does not make sense.

      I know what an RJ11 is, why do you think I posted the link to the cable. What I'm after is a pic of your setup because you haven't made it very clear.

      on my extention i have a telephone box bit this plastic block in this block i have a rj11 connection cable that runs to my router its this im wanting to change the cable itself
