Are my Sky User Pinger results any good? - Please help
Hi all,
I am getting really fed up with my Sky Broadband being slow and am looking for anything I can do without having to go for the overpriced virgin next year.
I ahve just run the SkyUser Pinger software and got the following results
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 3581 kbps 796 kbps
Line Attenuation 52 db 31 db
Noise Margin 7 db 14 db
Considering I am paying for the MAX unlimited service that is UP TO 20Mb my speed is rubbish but I do a lot of downloading so I chose to pay for the unlimited aspect of it.
Are these results good/bad/average?
I am considering getting a wireless N router, will this help my speed, obviously it wont help the line but as I am wireless would I find it quicker?
Any advice would be amazing

Buy an ethernet cable
Your stats dont seem to far away from what you should expect, but try the test socket and see what stats you get there.
If you must stay with wireless then try different channels to see if one of the others gives better results.
You may also want to consider homeplugs if ethernet is impractical, they wont cost as much as a new router.
