      due to having these problems and doing testing im already plugged into the internal conection of the main socket. and everything else has been unplugged.



      router stats
      ADSL Link - Downstream - Upstream
      Connection Speed - 6304 kbps - 448 kbps
      Line Attenuation - 25 db - 6 db
      Noise Margin - 15 db - 24 db

      Hm.. Your line rate should increase there is room for it....

      Can't see why your throughput would be so low.. at this time of day.
      Are you connecting wirelessly?

      With your attenuation you should be syncing at the maximum available, 8Mb. Reboot your router and see if your sync speed increases.

      Even for wireless this is a very low speed. It could be your Profile is stuck. Try an official BT speed test at. Test Result

      ill reboot in a min.

      i have done 6 tests in the last 3 days on that bt page as i know its the most reliable.

      they have ranged from 78kbps - 112kbps

      What did it say your IP profile was? Probably stuck at 135kbps.

      BT speedtester state my line IP profile is 135kbps

      rebooted my router twice and sync is
      was 6912
      then 6880
      and now 6720

      So it had gone up from your figure in post #12(6304) before you rebooted? Don't reboot too often by the way, the system can see this as a fault and cut your speed even more.

      As User05 says, what is your Profile? This is what determines you actual download speed.

      arr ok, its been reset a fair few times over the last 4 or say days. everytime i speak to aol they seem to think the answer is to switch it of and then back on

      speedtester.bt.com states,
      IP profile - 135kbps
