      Bittorrent Help

      Hi,
I have set up port forward on my Sky Sagem F@st 2504, which works for a little but, then Sky seem to be block me.

Can anyone recommend a fairly reliable port for Port Forwarding for BitTorrent?

      Regards
      Darren

      Re: Bittorrent Help

If you have forwarded your ports correctly then they should not be blocked. Especially if you are on unlimited BB. (as far as I have read on here anyway).

Try deleting all the rules you have created. DL and install a program called simple port forwarding. It is a simple program to use and does it all for you.

As for which port, google it as there are so many variants.

I deleted all my rules and got simple port forwarding to create the ports, but still getting a 'this port is closed' type error

Are you using a software firewall such as ZoneAlarm?

      Re: Bittorrent Help

I am using Norton Internet Security 2010 (or whatever the latest version is).

But after a bit more fiddling, and several Router reboots, I seem to have the port open. Cheers guys.

Does anyone know a contact for the Simple Port Forwarding guys, the script for the Sagem F@st 2504 looks for buttons that aren't there

See if this helps slightly different program but same principles.

Sky User - BitComet Port forwarding on a Sagem F@ST 2504 Router.

      Re: Bittorrent Help

      OMG! (To Coin a Phrase!).

Do you know what the problem was? Despite telling Norton to switch off Windows Firewall, it was still running. So I was configuring Norton & the router to open the ports, and Windows was happily sat there, all quiet, blocking them.

I feel stupid for not checking, but I've NEVER switched Windows Firewall on EVER!
