Which is the best NON Sky Router

I have had tried both sky routers, and they are both cr*** at the moment I'am using the,Sagem "FAST 2504" The first question is, Which is the best router I could buy?
      The second question is.
I was using the netgear untill 12th August, when they changed my connection to D.L.M. then it all went wrong I could only keep the connection for 5mins max, of course sky help said I was the only one having problems and sent me the sagem router, but while I was waiting I connected a netgear router which was not skys, and that worked fine.
I then recived the sagem, I connected that on 25 Aug, then it started, the max speed I can get is 3meg, but at 05.00 each morning it drops the speed, the lowest is 2976kb. If I take the telephone cable out of the router, it goes back to 3meg stays there till 05.00 and reboots down to a lower speed.
I have my fillter in the test socket, in the face plate which is the only one in the house, the router is straight off it and the phone, I have 2 sky boxes which are not connected to the phone line.
The speed is now 3026kbs down, and and 798kbs up, it was 901kbs at one time.
Please have look at my stats.

      Total up time 260 hrs.

I'm curious about this as well. I have the Sagem router and the wireless range on it is atrocious. I have a desktop upstairs that cannot connect to the Sagem. That's one nice Dell desktop going to waste.

The routers which Sky provide are not too bad, and poor wireless can have many causes. I dont like "one box solutions" (and I dont like wireless that much) but if you must use it better to have the router close to the master socket and then run a network cable to a wireless acess point positioned for best overall reception.

Even better, use home plugs and disable wireless altogether.

If I try to move a film, from one computer to another, wirelessly it starts and after 2 to 3 mins cuts out.
The other computer is only about 5ft away in the other room.

On the Sagem if you try changing the wireless channel number it can sometimes help.

I have to agree with Joss, if your PCs are close together, get a Cross over cable and connect them directly. If you regularly transfer large amounts of data between the machines, it is much faster and worth the few pounds it will cost.

I think I have to agree with you.
Now I have to talk to my wife, as I have to drill a hole through the wall, to connect them up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
      And I have the cable.
