      I Plate Help

Just recently found my master socket. (Been on sky bb for 12 months). Sync speed didn't go up after I moved to master socket, tried in test socket and speed remained the same but my noise ration went up and my attenuation decreased by 0.5dB

My friend had an I plate I could have, installed it today but have yet to see any difference. Does it take time to do anything? (week or so?) Or am i one of the 3 in 10 people that it does nothing for? Or lastly has dlm affected my line as it happened when I wasn't in the master socket?

Thanks in advance for any help guys

At my sisters house so can't give my full router stats, but my dl is 1505kbps, and line attenuation (dl) is 54.5db or something

      Re: I Plate Help

It is not an i-plate you need, you require a filtered faceplate, this will filter the signal at the master socket and stop your existing internal wiring from interfering with it.

Remember though, once you fit one, the router must be connected to it, no other phone socket will work for broadband.

OP have you removed the wires connected to pin 3 on the back of your faceplate?
If not give it a try, its the skinflints solution.

He has an iPlate, so removing the wire will make no difference. As Smithy says, he needs a filtered faceplate to isolate the extensions.

      Re: I Plate Help

The i-plate she currently has will do that for her. That is why the only option is a filtered faceplate.

      Re: I Plate Help

Thanks for your answers, I am using an I Plate because I don't want to touch the wires at all, so don't want to use a filtered faceplate. Should I ask for DLM to run again?

      Re: I Plate Help

The ring wire is not your problem as you have proved with the iPlate. Your problem is your extension wiring which is acting like an aerial picking up interference. The only way to cure it is to fit a filtered faceplate. You can ask for DLM to be run again, but it will do no good whatsoever if you do not improve the wiring at your end by fitting a filtered faceplate. You could even end up with a much lower speed than you have at present.
