Can you please post your router stats? see quick links to the left for details.

Ignore just about everything from Speedtest.net it is rubbish.

      Re: Help needed

Yes, this showy you are capped quite badly, can you also post these stats again from the test socket, see my sig for details, this will give a best case senario connection wise and then we can tell you what speed you should be getting and then you can get onto Sky to sort it out.

You should see a very good inprovement in your connection once it is all done so it is worth the effort.

      Re: Help needed

Ok, that proves that your internal wiring is faulty and dragging down your speeds etc.

On the rear of the faceplate that you removed you will have some wires going to the terminals. Remove any wires in terminal 3, you dont need them and this can cause noise on the line.

Then, ensure that ALL phone sockets have an ADSL filter fitted into them before anything else.

Next ring Sky, tell them that you have improved your wiring and can they please manually configure the line, tell them that you are a gamer and also want to get your max delays reduced to 8 to improve your ping times.

Hopefully they will put you through to CST who will do this for you, when you are speaking to CST, ask if they can try G.DMT profile on your line because you are aware it is quite long and may work better.

You should be plugged into the test socket when you speak to them, this will save time, it would also be worthwile fitting a filtered faceplate to the master socket, this will then isolate all your dodgy wiring and give you a better stable speed.

      Hey, i'm not God!!

You could try after 10:30pm, it is usually quieter then.

You can get a filtered faceplate from either Runitdirect's website or ADSLnation. Very easy to fit, just remember to get a cheap IDC tool with it.

      Re: Help needed

One 'trick' that has been working is to tell Tier 1 you want your Delays reduced to improve your gaming, they should put you straight through to the Customer Support Team. When you get there, ask them to configure your line for its best speed and reduce your Delay to improve your Ping..
