from 1mg d/l to 6.5 on connect is that possible

hiya guys following on from my last thread here >>>>noob help please faceplate, router etc etc lol i had to go on the sky connect package and was told by sky and all those broadband checkers my line will only get upto 1 meg

so it all came a week ago and was about right i was getting 1.2 dl and 300 upload

but the last 2 days i have tested it and am getting readings from various testing sites that i am now getting just over 6mg d/l and 400 upload is this possible i thought connect customers were capped or my line was not good enough this is what i was told

the exchange is only in the next street so i always thought those initial figures might be wrong

is my line stats ok as i know nothing about this kind of stuff

Connection Speed 7616 kbps 448 kbps
Line Attenuation 3 db 3 db
Noise Margin 14 db 22 db

and this was test just now

      Your line stats are excellent!

Connection Speed 7616 kbps 448 kbps
Line Attenuation 3 db 3 db
Noise Margin 14 db 22 db

I have never seen a line attenuation so low. You must have the flat above the exchange lol.

Even on connect, it is up to 8 mg any I dare say you could max you sync out as you have plenty spare capacity in your SNR of 14db, Sky default SNR is 6.9.

Pity you can't get LLU as you would max out.

Re: from 1mg d/l to 6.5 on connect is that possible

im a bit of a IDnet fanboy now i recently joined them but in all honestly they are brilliant,if u only just joined sky broadband just over a week ago someone else will confirm this or not but im sure you can cancel within 10 days without charge i think, maybe 14 days.

only reason i am bringing this up is that if you are on connect and are paying 17 quid a month then for an extra 61p a month you can get another isp IDnet's max package where you will get maximum speed capable on your line pretty much 24/7 with no slowing down at peak times and as joss said your line stats are great and i guess you would get a solid 7 meg connection majority of the time.

but by all means if you are happy with sky and they not messing you about with speed then all good.

What I failed to point out to the OP was despite the excellent stats and speed, the fact remained that as you both point out, the connect package is crippled come 5.00pm to 12.00am.

Expect you should get the full 20mb, if your stats are accurate.
