Yes they can get rid of the DLM and just set your line at w/e speed (or just completely remove the cap)

      08442414141

Its automated at the beginning, just follow it through and you'll get put through to someone.

Tell them you think DLM is on your line and if they can confirm this, then ask them if they can get rid of it and just remove the cap

Plug everything back in as you had it and let DLM run properly. You have only been connected a couple of days and were doing quite well till you started messing about. Leave it alone and let the equipment do its job. If your line is left alone it will soon pick up its speed again.

Re: from 1mg d/l to 6.5 on connect is that possible

We established earlier on that you had a filtered faceplate and there was nothing to be gained by using the Test socket. The reason your speed dropped was probably because the quality of the plug in filter is much lower than the faceplate filter.

Dlm isn't always put on new lines, sky put dlm on my line a few month back and we've had sky since 2008, but yeah if you have a filtered faceplate theres no reason to use a microfilter or the test socket.

DLM is running on this line and is put on all new connections. The OP moved from Connect to Unlimited which is classed as a new connection.

Re: from 1mg d/l to 6.5 on connect is that possible

Do you mean your sync speed or download speed? If it is the sync, now that it has been upset another disconnection is not going to make much difference, Take of the faceplate again and make sure it seats in properly when you put it back. If you have some WD40 a small squirt on the plug section ensures a good fit. DLM will not normally interfere with your connection during the day, it resyncs the router in the early hours.

After you have done that, Post your stats.

If it is the download speed, don't worry about it, wireless speeds vary all the time. What you can do is download Inssider from the link below and run it to discover the channels in use in your area. Set your channel to one as far from those in use as possible. You may have to check this at different times of the day as not everyone leaves their router and wireless on all the time.

      Use http://www.skyuser.co.uk/speedtester/
