      Coxhoe Exchange

      Hi all,

I have been living in Gateshead and enjoying a 6Mb connection. However my Wife is looking at a house in Bowburn (Coxhoe exchange), she has her heart set on it but the Sam Knows site has put me off. The exchnage has not been LLU'd so this leads me to belive we can still get sky but on a very low speed.

So I was wondering if anyone on here in on the Coxhoe exchange and can give me an idea of what speeds I should expect if we move there.

      Thanks

      Re: Coxhoe Exchange

Its not really a matter of the headline speed you can get, and that still will depend on exactly how far you are from the exchange so nobody is going to be able to estimate this for you. The issue is the way Sky manages (read Throttles) their BT ADSL product. You'd be better off looking at a different provider, such as Plusnet or ADSL24 as they have a lot more bandwith to play with on their BT packages.

      Re: Coxhoe Exchange

Thanks for the info. The house is about 2492M away from the exchange. I checked those 2 providers and they are way too expensive. I think I will have to talk her out of buying the house.

I would guess looking at the distance I might be looking at about a 1Mb connection

      Re: Coxhoe Exchange

I know this is an old thread I started but I have an update on this exchange as we did buy in Bowburn. The exchange is targeted for LLU on Monday 4th October 2010. Finally some choice in the village!!!
