      Connection dropping... sort of

      Hi,

I've been having loads of problems since moving to Sky Broadband.
Predominantely at the weekend, my connection drops on a number of occasions.
This happened yesterday 4 or 5 times.

When it drops, it will usually reconnect after a period of time.
Sometimes, everything is fine when this happens, at other times I can only access some sites.
If I ping the site by name, some fail, others work.

It's the same when I use the ping utility from within the router.

Even when I'm connected, the SkyTest utility fails all the time.

I've emailed Sky customer Services, but I'm awaiting a response from them.

Have you got any ideas of what tests I could run, or how I could determine the cause of the problem.

Surely if I can access some sites, then there is nothing wrong with my internal wiring.

Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

      Thank you

Can you post your router stats?

Also, are you using the Sky DNS servers? if som try using OpenDNS, they have instructions on how to set this up on their website.
