Help needed please! Stats seem as though i should be gettin faster speed?

Hi to anyone who sees this, I have a question for anyone that knows what they are talking about as I really dont haha.

I have sky max package, my router is connected directly to my master socket (filtered faceplate) i dont have any extensions and the wiring to the master socket is brand new.

      These are my router stats:

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 3488 kbps 448 kbps
Line Attenuation 51.0 db 28.5 db
Noise Margin 6.2 db 19.0 db

I usually get 1.2Mbit download and it never goes any faster, at peak times download can be around 0.5Mbit and is pretty much unusable.
My downstream has been around 4000 kbps before and still no more than 1.2Mbit download.

Is there anything that looks wrong with those stats? Should I really be getting more speed? Any advice on what i should do?

Any help would be reaaaaally appreciated, thanks in advance!!

From the stats. it looks like you ar on Sky Connect not the Sky LLU package.

      Can you confirm this?

Go to your MySky page and check the Broadband details, that or your account summary will show what package you are on.

If you are on Connect have a look at this thread -

If your on Connect, chances are you cannot switch because it is not available to your exchange.

Put your details in the exchange checker to see if it is available or not.

5-6mbps possibly. Are you sure you can get Max/Unlimited though?

Check SamKnows Broadband - Availability - Broadband Availability Checker to see if Sky has an LLU presence at your exchange.

I'm on sky LLU and can only receive 800kbps. C'mon, 0.5mb is usable.

Brundall does not have Sky LLU available. The only LLU provider is TalkTalk, who would probably be a lot better than Sky Connect.

Re: Help needed please! Stats seem as though i should be gettin faster speed?

Thanks alot for your help, think i might change over to talk talk, hope i can get good speed from them.
i dont know what LLU is, is it going to make a big difference?
0.5 for me is definitely unusable hehe, only one person can use the internet at a time and i get my ass kicked all the time on call of duty because my connection is lame.
if someone is watching youtube and im playin call of duty it doesnt even register any shots, call of duty the main reason i need a good connection hehe.
      thanks again

LLU means the ISP has put their own equipment in the exchange. In most cases it gives better results than the re-badged BT offering. For one thing, it is not so severely capped as Connect.
